Reception of the GEN2-100Ah NiZn modules: get ready for the demo cases!
The first series of Generation 2 of LOLABAT’s rechargeable NiZn technology, bringing together the latest upscalable developments on NiZn performance in LOLABAT, is now ready! During October, several modules of 100Ah of GEN2 have been delivered to the CEA to be prepared for the next step of LOLABAT!
At CEA-Liten, the modules will be constructed into Battery Packs, with integration of BMS and sensors. The battery packs will then go through a series of characterization tests performed by the CEA, before being delivered to the demonstrator project partners for five different use cases:
Hybridization of a hydraulic powerplant led by SuperGrid Institute (France) with a battery pack of 10 kWh/100Ah
Smart distribution grid management led by EDP (Portugal) with a battery pack of 10 kWh/100Ah
Energy balancing in a smart building located in Savona’s Campus of University of Genova (Italy) with a battery pack of 10 kWh/100Ah
Energy storage integration in copper manufacturing process at KME (Italy) with a battery pack of 10 kWh/100Ah
Energy storage dedicated to remote autonomous low voltage supply solutions led by the University of Genova (Italy) with a battery pack of 3 kWh/100Ah
Through these demo cases, LOALABT will reach the TRL 5 level.
